"RAMAN SPECTROSCOPY APPLICATIONS IN BIOLOGY AND AGRICULTURE"

ABSTRACT 

Following a brief discussion of the basics of infrared and Raman spectroscopy, we will examine the various types of Raman instruments and methodology available for studying biological samples and those of interest to agriculture. Conventional Raman or COORS (common old ordinary Raman) as well as surface enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) and Raman microscopy will be discussed. Examples of using nanoparticles will be included. As time allows, studies of cancer cells, pesticides, plants, algae, pathogens, viruses, bacteria, pollen , etc. will be presented.
