"Quantum-dot Physics for Applications in Semiconductor Lasers and Quantum Optics"

The changes in carrier-interaction processes arising from 3-dimensional quantum confinement will be discussed. These changes are interesting because they have the potential to improve semiconductor laser performance at underlying-physics level and to allow the development of nonclassical-light sources for quantum-information technologies. [1]
