TITLE:Soliton-Like Self-Compression of High-Energy Few-Cycle MIR Pulses in Kagome-Lattice Waveguides and Bulk Crystals
We investigate efficient nonlinear self-compression of long-wavelength pulses in the strong anomalous dispersion regime. At the carrier wavelength of 1.8 μm, nearly single-cycle duration at the energy level of 0.1 mJ is achieved in a hollow-core microstructured fiber filled with Kr. At the wavelength of 3.9 μm, 7-mJ transmitted through a thin bulk YAG crystal are self-compressed from 92 fs to 46 fs. This technique enables straightforward generation of few-cycle high-intensity pulses for strong-field applications.
