AMO/QO Physics Seminar

"Cavity Ring-down and Related Experiments"

Dr. Kevin Lehmann
University of Virginia

I will introduce the use of high finesse cavities for high sensitivity spectroscopy. Then I will discuss work in my laboratory that illustrates some of the applications, including: 1. Measurement of Isotopic Ratio of trace methane gas, 2. Detection of trace Nitric Oxide with application to biological science,3. Detection of trace levels of Mercury, 4. Fiber loop cavity enhanced spectroscopy of liquid samples.
