"Field-intensity correlation in an open system"

Field-field correlation and intensity-intensity correlation reflect wave and particle properties of light, respectively. The field-intensity correlation jointly addresses particle and wave aspects of light. The cross correlation between the field and intensity measurements in an open system is revisited by application of master equation and quantum regression theorem. The field-intensity correlation for positive time delay is well understood in terms of the quantum trajectory theory associated with the prior dynamics, while such correlation for negative time delay is accounted for by a recent past quantum state formalism related to both the prior and posterior dynamics.
